Since suspending all stage performances we have presented an exciting and inspiring programme of online events through Greenwich Connects. Refreshed each week and inviting engagement from everyone, our Greenwich Connects season has been extended thanks to special funding support from Arts Council England.

As we all move carefully back into more social activity and community living Greenwich Theatre is thinking and planning for a busy future.

Following government advice, we have undertaken a thorough review of health and safety. In line with the most recent guidelines we are now able to re-open our telesales and in person Box Office on Crooms Hill. This will be done carefully with limited opening hours at first: Thursday to Saturday 2pm to 6pm. Only one member of our team will work in the box office so please bear with them when it gets busy. Online information and booking, now on our wonderful new website and booking system, is open 24 hours a day.

We have been in contact with all of the producers of the shows that did not take place. All of them are extremely excited about resuming rehearsals and performances. We are working with them to reschedule as many performances as we can. Some are already being booked into dates in 2021. As those are confirmed we will contact bookers and offer a ticket to the new dates. Again, please be aware that this process will take time with our temporarily extremely limited human resources. Where a performance can’t be rescheduled or doesn’t work for you, we can credit your account for the ticket value. We are asking everyone, with genuine thanks, to please not ask for a refund unless you really do need the money.

Many customers have already been in touch to donate their ticket to the theatre. We hope many more will do the same by simply leaving the ticket unused. Others have made additional donations through our website and these are received with an overwhelming gratitude and thanks. We are, like theatres worldwide, in a real battle for our future. We believe that future can be great, important and soon to start. But the support we’ve seen so far needs to grow if we are to remain a home to the diverse and inspiring theatre we love. Please think about and choose to join us by becoming a Friend of the Theatre. We are also still, for a short time, offering the very special opportunity to inscribe a clay tablet that will join others inscribed by supporters over the last fifty years.

Finally, we are very excited and proud to announce this year’s Pantomime is now on sale. An amazing new imagining of our classic family show will feature the same creative team including Uncle Steve Markwick and Dame Andrew Pollard.
