CREEKSHOW

Nominated for an Off Fest award

Fresh from a critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe, CREEKSHOW returns home, to the banks of Deptford Creek, for one night only!

From writer and performance artist Jenny Witzel, directed by Luke Lewin Davies, comes a new storytelling show exploring the dangers of regeneration, told through the lens of Jenny’s experience of living on a houseboat on Deptford Creek. Bringing to life an archive of mud larked* artefacts borrowed from the Creekside Discovery Centre, CREEKSHOW is a “poignant depiction of what is lost when local histories are forcefully overwritten by gentrification.”**

*Mudlarking is the activity of searching the mud (= soft, wet ground) near rivers trying to find valuable or interesting objects.
**CREEKSHOW review (Katie Hawthorne, The Scotsman).
