My Female Husband

Witness the scandalous case of one woman’s Female Husband!

Following a sold-out run at the Camden Fringe this summer, TOMBOY Productions’ ‘astounding’ (★★★★ London Culturalist) debut play My Female Husband returns to the stage for one night only in the Greenwich Theatre Studio.

In a courtroom in 1767 east London, Eliza Williams accuses her husband Henry of being a woman. Henry, desperate to save his reputation, tries to stop her from ending their marriage. Based on real historical accounts, My Female Husband is a queer and mischievous courtroom drama exploring the true lives of female husbands in the eighteenth century.

Written by Billie Billington and directed by Phoebe Grove, My Female Husband is the debut production by TOMBOY Productions, a London-based theatre company making playful queer theatre.

★★★★ ‘Masterfully written and excellently performed… the show’s historical context feels all too applicable to the contemporary.’ Everything Theatre

★★★★ ‘Executed so perfectly… An emotive queer pantomime in purgatory.’ London Culturalist
