99 sleepless nights of painting Basquiat

Boris, driven by the desire to surpass Jean-Michel Basquiat, isolates himself for 99 days to prepare for a competition, resulting in madness and hallucinations.

Boris has harbored a deep passion for painting since his childhood. Now a young adult, he finds himself fixated on the idea of outshining his
lifelong idol, Jean Michel Basquiat. This peculiar ambition was instilled in him by his father, who insisted that Boris dedicate his life solely to art to gain recognition among his peers. One day, Boris decides to enter a painting competition aimed at showcasing the best interpretation of a
Basquiat work, with the chance to win the Shener Prize—a recognition he has long desired. For 99 days and nights, Boris relentlessly paints in his studio, neglecting food and water while isolating himself from the outside world. Thankfully, his friend Nina arrives just in time to prevent the young artist, overwhelmed by madness and hallucinations, from taking his own life. This one-act play explores sensitive themes such as youth suicide among artists, obsession, the dark side of idol worship, the craving for fame, and the impact of mental illness
