GT Writer’s Group

Greenwich Theatre to launch a new Writer's Group!

Every Tuesday at 6pm, come on down to the renowned Greenwich Theatre Bar to discuss your play ideas, write in a collaborative space and meet fellow writers. This is a low-stakes, friendly and inclusive setting designed for all levels of experience, be it seasoned writers who could benefit from some more structure, writers fresh off of courses looking for motivation, and writers who have never put a pen to paper. We'll also be launching some zoom focus sessions to help you lock-in and get some work done! All led by a team of emerging London-based writers, we'd love to see you there!

We’ve created the Greenwich Theatre writers group for writers of all ages and experiences; the main focus is to create a safe, welcoming community for playwrights. In our first session, we’ll introduce Ruby and Ethan, who’ll say a bit about themselves and their intentions behind this idea. Then we’ll move to the rest of the group, discussing your interest in the group and what you want to get out of it as writers. Finally, the session will focus on a series of exercises exploring Story, specifically what stories we want to create as writers and the different types of story structures there are.

Ethan Taylor - is a playwright and screenwriter from Essex and based in London. Studied Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance at the University of York where he Co-founded Platform which organised and hosted Scratch Nights for the theatre department as well as being a part of the York Theatre Royals New Works festival in his 3rd year, due to his play Miracle being a runner up in the RSC’s 37 plays competition. Now based in London, Ethan has been working in theatre, having a staged reading of his work at Greenwich Theatre in August. He mainly writes plays focusing on interpersonal issues within the younger generation blending drama and comedy.
