Hathaleen: The Unexpected Journey to Palestine

A satirical black comedy drama about a hopeless romantic Zionist who abruptly travels to Palestine on a whim to try win back his pro-Palestinian ex-girlfriend.
This 95-minute production is based on the first-hand experiences from writer-director Louis Linsey who he spent two months teaching in refugee camps and supporting the protective presence programmes in the West Bank.
The play is a tribute to Palestinian activist and English teacher Awdah Hathaleen who was murdered in the village where Louis lived in the summer of 2025 just three weeks after he had left. We are raising funds for Awdah’s family via the Center for Jewish Non-Violence, as well as for our Palestinian actor Salsabil Al-Masri’s family in Gaza.
This is the play’s third run having been performed at The Source and Arches Lane Theatre as part of the Camden Fringe Festival. We are currently seeking funding to take this production around the country and tell what happened to Awdah.
