New work. Every Tuesday.
In a climate where venues are playing it safe and shrinking risk, we’re doing the opposite.
From April 2026, our Studio becomes home to a weekly platform for new ideas, early drafts, rehearsed readings, works-in-progress and premieres. By making it regular, affordable and under one programme we lower the financial risk for artists and create real space to experiment. It will include;
🎭 Scratch Nights 📖 Rehearsed Readings 🔥 Work In Progress Performances 🌟 Premieres
This isn’t just a one-off night.
It’s a relationship a community.
A development pathway.
A place to test, film, invite, build momentum and grow.
If you’re a theatre-maker with something new, bold or unfinished — we want to see it.

14 APRIL - POPPIES -
'Johnjoe and Jim clash over the wearing of a poppy. The best friends address what the symbol represents to their respective heritage and attempt to navigate their way through this historic subject matter in relation to their friendship and the British Empire’s devastating, lasting impact in Ireland.
This naturalistic conversation develops into surreal hypotheticals that explore autonomy, societal expectations and childhood memories. Amidst this, their relationship falters as they both realise they are fundamentally different people .
‘Poppies’ depicts a modern day tragedy of stubbornness, repressed anger and identity in a time where this lack of footing soft launches so many young
men into dangerous ideals.
Co created and performed by Jim Spencer Broadbent and Johnjoe Irwin
28 APRIL - KIERAN (Rehearsed Reading) -
Inspired by writer Molly Cass O’Donnell’s personal loss, Kieran follows an Irish Catholic family in the midst of their grief as they come together at a wake. What can you say when you refuse to discuss the elephant in the room?
What happens when you mix multiple generations, clashing cultures and alcohol together? Kieran hopes to shine a light on toxic masculinity and the men's mental health crisis.
Brought together, over four rehearsals, by an extraordinary ensemble of seven with the support of Greenwich Theatre and Pultrichude Theatre Company this will be Kieran's theatrical debut.

12 MAY - SOLDIER STREET (Rehearsed Reading) -
Southend. Easter Sunday. The Allman Family Home.
To the outside world, The Allmans seem like any normal 'Soldier Street' Family. There's a local business in the family name, they have generations of men who have fought for the British Army, and they're regulars at Church. As a result, they are well-respected within their community. However, as is often the case, the Allmans are not so 'normal' at all.
Relationships are tested in this politically charged family drama that forces us to question the morality of tradition and patriotism, and just how far people might go to protect it.
Presented by the McCreadie Company

19 MAY - Today, Again (Work in Progress) -
What if you could buy more time?
Best friends Gabi and Fiona impulsively purchase a Time Machine that can send them back to any moment within the last 24 hours.
At first, the device becomes a shared escape. But after countless resets, cracks begin to form. Their conflict erupts into an argument that breaks the Time Machine, and in the aftermath, the loop collapses. At its heart, the play explores friendship, fear of change, the lure of nostalgia, and the courage it takes to let tomorrow finally arrive...

26 MAY - Behold the Sea (Work in Progress) -
Strange things happen by the sea. Open yourself to it, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Compton Bay. The Isle of Wight. A place where time appears to stand still. Lucy and her friends arrive for the weekend – they drink, play music and dabble in some magic, all in the hopes of escaping a world they are becoming increasingly disenchanted with. But underneath all the fun and nostalgia, an unexpected opportunity begins to surface, one that could change their lives. Forever. Rooted in the rich folklore of Britain and Ireland, Behold The Sea (For She is Calling) is a new myth for the modern world. If you could change it all, would you?
