By Jez Butterworth
Directed by Daniel Bailey
In a rundown Blackpool guest house in the mid 1970s, The Webb sisters swelter in the driest summer for 200 years. Twenty years ago, they were Lancashire’s answer to the Andrews Sisters. Now memories of innocence, ambition and cruelty flood back as their mother lies dying upstairs.
First premiered in 2024 at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London, directed by Sam Mendes, the play was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play before transferring to Broadway.
This production is produced and performed by Rose Bruford College students and staff.
This is an amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
